Ruth (Jurgens) Noth Update

Hi Dave

As usual, I’ve kept busy so far this summer. Just finished my last HUGE project for the property – hopefully!  When Chris (my oldest son) and I removed the five 30 foot tall spruce trees last year, I had tilled up and seeded the back 77 x 20 ft. area. Only the middle came in well.

I planted a meteor cherry tree in last April. I could tell that the ground was very uneven – not all the grass came up in the middle area and it was very sparse on the ends. I just couldn’t stand the thought of trying to re-seed with all the work and expense, so decided to do something more permanent.

Chris had 4 days off from work and came home and we dug into an idea that I had, and low and behold, we got it done in 3 1/2 days. I’m exhausted, the bottoms of my feet are bruised from the “manual” sod cutter that only I could get to work so I got to do it all, and then laying down 6 tons of river rock.  Just glad it’s done and we were so blessed to have PERFECT weather the whole time really. If the sun was out, at least it was cool, and we finished the project Sat. at noon about 2 hours before it started to rain, which the new project needed as well.  We took what good sod came in on the ends and moved it to the middle to fill in spots that didn’t come in. I really love it back there now and also have less to mow.

I’ve attached pictures.   Feel free to share whenever.  Take care. Glad things are working out well for Bessie.

PS – Needless to say, my rotator cuff surgery in Feb. and rehab have been a success and I’m back to normal and doing big things. 🙂
