40th Year Reunion Reflections

Dave- I am uploading a bunch of fun crazy pics to the site. I also want to add what a great time we all had and it was fantastic seeing so many long time (not saying old..) friends! Great job to Bonnie, Brenda, Cheri and Kevin K for putting the reunion, breakfeast and golf together. It was so fun to connect again! Come up to visit in the Twin Cities and we are looking forward to staying connected. Thanks Dave

The lesson learned this last reunion was…exactly what I have been saying for a long time to so many people. It is great to connect to people that were a part of your life from way back when. No one cares if you gained or lost weight, are a millionaire or have $50 in the bank, what your job position is or isn’t. All we care about now at this point in our lives is that we are still able to get together, laugh, and reconnect with the people that share a time in our lives which may have been some of the hardest in our young lives.

We have all changed now for the better. We are all the same. We develop new friendships with people in our class we did not know well back then. I am so thankful that this has happened, especially in the last few years. Otherwise, in many cases, I would have missed out on some phenomenal friendships. Love love love you guys! Until the next reunion!

Thanks for the great time

First I want to thank all of the organizers for the great job. Brenda and Bonnie for all their hard work. Kevin And Kevin for the golf outing. Cheri and MaryJo for the ladies breakfast and those that participated in the musical afternoon. We need to especially thank Dave for being the center and the glue that has kept us together. His webpage is a great place to post and keep up with the events of all of our lives.

The stories were many with some great laughs. But one that was about me and completely forgotten was brought back by Tom Searls. When we would go on athletic trips out of town we were always given a sack lunch. I bit into an apple that was rotten and contained a worm. Apparently this nice juicy morsel became stuck in my braces. As I was spitting it out and throwing it out the window, The rest of the team was rolling around in near hysterics at my less than enviable situation. It’s memory was completely forgotten by me until Tom chose to bring it up.

Sue Hanson and I spent time telling war stories of being teachers. She had a great story of child birth on one of her over seas trips. She should tell it. As I said you win. I cannot beat it.

MaryJo and I were having a a discussion about how good as a group we looked after 40 years and she said she was looking for the top 10 with Alice looking best of all. Most of us looked very much like we did our senior year, just a little fatter, a little grayer or balder. But we all seemed to have forgotten the petty little things that took place 40 years ago.

The whole weekend was great fun with lots of hugs and kisses. It only makes me look forward to our 50th.

Love from Florida

Dave, Just wanted to send a BIG THANK YOU your way for your part in our fabulous 40th reunion. Also much appreciation to Bonnie and Brenda for all of their hard work and organization skills and Cheri for graciously opening her beautiful home to the West High Girls for brunch. I had a crazy fun time as I’m sure everyone else did! I look forward to our reunions every time and so enjoy re-connecting with old friends and reliving precious memories! It was nice to see some new faces in the crowd this time and I hope we can reconnect with even more of our wonderful class of 1973 in the years to come. I feel truly blessed to be a part of this TRIBE!!! Our class rocks!!!!

Hi Dave:

What a fun time at the music jam! I was thrilled to see so many classmates show up for the afternoon event. Wish I could have come that evening, but our schedule didn’t allow it to happen. Some folks I hadn’t seen since graduation – it was like picking up from where we left off 40 years ago. Guess that’s what friendship is all about. I’m looking forward to seeing more photos from the weekend. Here are a couple my husband took that you can share on the class website.

Great seeing you – although we didn’t get a chance to chat.
